how unwrapping works
Wrapped SOL is native SOL parked in an SPL token account so it can trade like any other token. Swap routers wrap and unwrap automatically. When a route leaves residue behind, a wSOL account sticks around holding it.
Closing the account returns everything at once: the wrapped balance plus the rent-exempt reserve locked inside it. One instruction, one signature, no liquidity needed.
