How to Connect Libautech Upsell to Claude With MCP

Libautech: Bundles & Upsell speaks MCP, the open standard that lets Claude connect to outside tools. Once it is connected, you can ask Claude about your Shopify upsell offers in plain English, right inside Claude, without opening a dashboard.

You can ask things like “how are my upsell offers performing this month?” or “what are my top performing upsell offers?” and Claude reads the answer from your live data. The whole thing takes about two minutes and you only do it once.

What you need

  • A Claude account, signed in at claude.ai in your browser or in the Claude desktop app. Either one works.
  • Your store’s .myshopify.com address, and the ability to approve the connection in your Shopify admin.

There is no key to paste and no config file to edit. You approve the connection once inside your own Shopify admin, and it only ever sees your store.

Connect it in six steps

  1. Open claude.ai in your browser, or the Claude desktop app, and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings, then Connectors, and click Add custom connector.
  3. Fill in only the top two fields and leave the OAuth fields empty:
    • Name: Libautech Upsell
    • Remote MCP server URL: https://upsell.libautech-shopify-apps.com/mcp
  4. Click Add, then click Connect on the new Libautech Upsell entry.
  5. A page opens asking for your store. Enter your .myshopify.com address. You land inside the Upsell app in your Shopify admin on an approval screen. Click Approve.
  6. Back in Claude, start a new chat and try: “What are my top performing upsell offers?”

If a step looks different

If any screen does not match what is described here, reply with a screenshot and we will sort it out together. The connection can only see your own store, and we can switch it off for you at any time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this work in the Claude website, or only the desktop app?
Both. Unlike the older setup, this uses a custom connector that works in the claude.ai website and in the Claude desktop app. You add it under Settings, then Connectors.
Do I need an access key?
No. The connector signs you in through your own Shopify admin, so there is nothing to copy or paste. If you set this up the old way with a pasted key, you can remove that and use the connector instead.
Is my store data safe?
Yes. You approve the connection inside your own Shopify admin, it is scoped to your store only, and we can switch it off at any time. Claude reads your Upsell data through the connection; nothing is shared beyond your own account.
The approval screen did not appear, or I could not approve it.
Check that you entered your correct .myshopify.com address and that you are logged into that store's Shopify admin. If the approval screen still does not load, reply with a screenshot and we will sort it out together.
